As we embarked on our journey to Wayanad via Mysore, we were filled with excitement, anticipation and a sense of adventure. Our journey began on Thursday night from the Chennai Central Railway Station, and we reached Mysore early in the morning at around 5 AM. The view we witnessed during the early morning hours of our journey was simply breathtaking, and we were thrilled to see what the rest of the trip had in store for us.
Day 01,
We started with a not-so-great breakfast in Mysore and then headed to the Edakkal Caves. we did some trekking and were exhausted but fulfilled by the end of it.
Edakkal Caves, is a breathtaking natural wonder. The caves are adorned with ancient rock paintings, created by our ancestors thousands of years ago. The intricate carvings on the cave walls and the stunning views of the surrounding mountains make Edakkal Caves an incredible sight to behold. Its beauty and historical significance make it a must-visit destination for nature and history enthusiasts alike.
The Banasura Sagar dam was our next stop, where we missed the speed boating but managed to do kayaking at sunset. It was one of the most beautiful moments of the trip.
Banasura Sagar Dam, is a true marvel of nature. The dam is built on the Banasura Sagar river, and the surrounding scenery is simply breathtaking. The serene water body, surrounded by the lush green mountains, creates a tranquil atmosphere that is perfect for relaxation and rejuvenation. We ended the day with some delicious local food specialties and reached our villa Blooms green farm.
Day 02,
We woke up early and went for trekking at the Chembra Peak. It took us almost four hours to reach the hilltop, but the experience was worth every step of the way.
Chembra Peak, is a natural wonder that offers a breathtaking view of the Western Ghats. It is the highest peak in the district, and the trek to the top is an exhilarating experience. The journey takes you through lush green forests, serene streams, and picturesque tea plantations. At the peak, you are rewarded with a panoramic view of the surrounding valleys and hills, making it a photographer's paradise. The natural beauty of Chembra Peak is a must-see for anyone visiting Wayanad, and the trek to the top is an unforgettable adventure.
We then went to the longest zipline, which was crowded, so we did sky cycling above the tea trees, which offered a breathtaking view. Wayanad is known for its picturesque tea plantations that offer a pleasant view of the rolling hills covered with lush green tea bushes. These plantations are spread across the district, and a visit to them is a treat for the senses. The pleasant climate and the misty atmosphere provide the ideal conditions for tea cultivation, making Wayanad a hub for the tea industry. Visitors can take a leisurely walk through the plantations, breathe in the fresh air, and enjoy a cup of tea while soaking in the serene surroundings. We also planned to go to the Sochipara waterfalls, but the tickets were overbooked. Nevertheless, we went to the 900 Kandi Glass Bridge, which was a thrilling experience,

and we ended the day with cinematic recreation and campfire.
Day 03,
We enjoyed a pool party until the afternoon, and then we headed back to Mysore. We visited the Upside Museum and later, at night, went to the Mysore Palace to see the beautiful lighting. We took the train back to Chennai, feeling rejuvenated, happy and grateful for the wonderful experience.
Wayanad and Mysore have an abundance of natural beauty, adventure sports and a rich culture. The journey was a perfect combination of adventure, beauty and fun. We got to experience the lush green forests, beautiful waterfalls, the serene backwaters and the vibrant culture of the region. The food was amazing, and the people were welcoming and warm. We learned a lot about the region's history and culture and returned with unforgettable memories that we will cherish for a lifetime.
